Press Release
For Immediate Release

Innofactor is part of the AICCELERATE consortium that has received significant funding by the European Union for a project to develop an adaptable AI-based toolset for a variety of clinical use cases. The project is led by the Helsinki University Hospital (HUS) and will start in early 2021 and its pilot cases will focus on patient-centric digital care pathways and on optimizing patient flow management.

Innofactor has long-standing expertise in developing leading e-health solutions together with HUS, such as Health Village, a public health care service, produced in collaboration with experts and patients, that makes health care services available to everyone, regardless of where they live. E-health services such as Health Village are already delivering significant benefits to their users but are not yet leveraging AI very broadly.

AI and machine learning have significant potential to help further improve the quality and efficiency of patient care. This project will help us to both evaluate this potential as well as build trust towards AI among patients and health care professionals”, says Sami Ensio, CEO, Innofactor.

The AICCELERATE consortium consists of specialists in the fields of IT, machine learning, robotics, neurology, pediatrics and surgery from Finland, Italy, Spain, Turkey, Netherlands, Germany and Belgium. Its member organizations consist of 5 European Hospitals as well as selected digital healthcare focused companies and organizations.
