Digitization is the process of converting information into a digital format, and for many organizations this is a critical journey to the cloud. Without an efficient and proper control of your organization's Master Data, such journey will get very cumbersome.
According to Gartner only around 10 % of the organisations who should be working with Master Data in a structured way are actually doing it. That means that there still are many organizations who are not benefiting 100% neither from digitization nor the cloud.
Last year Profisee, a leading MDM software company, conducted a survey around MDM. One of the central questions were about the biggest challenges on getting started with a MDM. The survey showed two main learnings:
- Building a Business Case and getting the commitment from the business was difficult.
- Establishing the MDM organization and governance around MDM (including organization, roles and responsibilities) was seen as a hard task.
